- Mark Hurst's Jream House will land on Nicolas Jaar's label next January.
A Pleasure will release his first LP through Nicolas Jaar's Other People on January 22nd.
New York artist Mark Hurst dropped his first record, last year's Extended Play, as the 30th "issue" on Other People. Now he's returning to the fold with Jream House, his first full-length. Hurst used numerical transposition to convert the names of bands and artists into percussive patterns, which he used as a basis for further improvisation with instruments like guitar, bowed cymbals and "blowtorch on aluminum." Titles like "Durutti Gottsching" and "Arthur Russell" offer a hint towards his influences.
