The label will release a full-length from the little-known LA artist in June.
Music From Memory has announced its next release, an LP from Garrett called Private Life.
The well-loved imprint run by Abel Nagengast, Jamie Tiller and Tako Reyenga has provided scant information on the artist behind Private Life. They shared a 12-minute track called "Angel Reflections" earlier today, and referred to Garrett as a "mysterious producer out of Los Angeles, California," adding that there's "not much more info to follow." The archival-focused label has also hinted at a reissue of Caliban's valuable Digital Reggae EP—we'll have more details on that one as they're available.
This year has seen Music From Memory issue a second Gaussian Curve record, The Distance, the RA-recommended Outro Tempo: Electronic And Contemporary Music From Brazil 1978-1992 compilation, music from Belgian-Congolese duo Denis Mpunga and Paul K. and a collection of label works selected by Chee Shimizu.
Listen to Garrett's "Angel Reflections."
