- The Sydney duo will release their first single on the label in August.
Sydney duo Bag Raiders have inked a deal with Modular Recordings.
The pair have been Sydney staples for some time now, dropping their self-titled debut EP in 2007 via local label Bang Gang 12-Inches, which contained electro cut "Fun Punch"—a blog favourite that contributed to the duo's Australian breakthrough. Since then, the production and DJ tandem have been behind the boards providing remixes for Headman, Midnight Juggernauts and Lost Valentinos.
The Bag Raiders first single through Modular, "Shooting Stars," is due for release in August, with an album penciled in for early 2010. The single, which contains remixes from Kris Menace and In Flagranti, will see Modular join forces with the Raiders' prior home, Bang Gang 12-Inches.
The signing coincides with the announcement of Bag Raiders' upcoming national tour schedule, which will see them perform eleven dates across the country in support of the single.
