- The Berlin jock's new label kicks off this month with a 12-inch from Matthew Burton.
Berlin-based DJ and producer Sammy Dee has founded a new record record label called Ultrastretch.
Formerly known as Mario Radecki, Sammy Dee is a longtime staple of the German capital's underground club scene. For the past decade or so he's been closely associated with Perlon, co-hosting the label's monthly Get Perlonized! night at Panorama Bar, and playing with Zip in a duo called Pantytec. He throws his own party at Weekend club as well, also called Ultrastretch, and plays live with Bruno Pronsato as Half Hawaii, a duo that's put out 12-inches on Perlon and most recently on Diamonds & Pearl's Phantasma series.
The new label kicks off with a 12-inch from Matthew Burton, an English producer Sammy Dee met a few years ago at Club der Visionaere. "I asked Matthew to be a part of Ultrastretch because he is a fresh artist and has a lot of variety in his music," says Sammy. "In many ways, he has inspired me and solidified why I wanted to launch this label in the first place." Ultrastretch has another 12-inch from Half Hawaii currently in the works. For now, the label is a vinyl-only affair.
