The double album will collect 35 exclusive cuts from both grime veterans and newcomers in May.
Big Dada has announced a new compilation, Grime 2.0, due out May 6th.
The two-disc collection seeks to highlight grime's history and also its continued strength in the present day. Compiled in partnership between Big Dada's Will Ashon and music journalist Joe Muggs, Grime 2.0 consists of 35 previously unreleased tracks from scene mainstays and outsiders alike. The old guard is well-represented by Wiley, MRK1 and Youngstar, whose "Pulse X" is generally considered the first grime record ever released. Younger producers like Royal-T, Starkey, Mr. Mitch, Spooky and Preditah make up some of the genre's most prominent latter-day artists, while lesser-knowns from around the world—like Toronto's Tre Mission and Japan's Prettybwoy—make the cut as well. You can see a trailer containing clips of tracks from the compilation below.
