- The Jazzanova man has revealed details of his first solo album.
Alex Barck will release his debut album through Sonar Kollektiv in October.
Reunion was mostly recorded on Réunion island in the Indian Ocean, where Barck moved last year with his family. As a co-founder of Jazzanova he's been involved in plenty of LPs before, but this is his first solo record. In true Jazzanova style, it's heavy on collaborations—Swedish singer Jonatan Bäckelie, AKA Ernesto, co-wrote three tracks—and it also features a vocal appearance from local Réunion singer Christine Salem. A few Sonar Kollektiv artists, including Pete Josif and Stee Downes, also guest.
You can get a taste of what the album will sound like over at SoundCloud, where "Don't Hold Back" is streaming in full. Check out the RA Exchange with Barck for some deeper insight into his career.
