- Robert Henke and The Haxan Cloak are confirmed for a Red Bull Music Academy Festival event at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple next Saturday, May 10th. Henke, the longtime computer-music innovator and educator also known as Monolake, has been busy recently with the audio-visual project Lumière. Since the first Lumière show at Poland's Unsound Festival last year, he's brought the laser-filled spectacle to select cities around Europe and in Tokyo. Next weekend's concert will be the first one in North America. (At the moment there's only one other Lumière event, at EM15 in Montreal, coming up on the continent.) Keeping a focus on avant-garde electronics, the concert will also feature UK artist The Haxan Cloak, who caused a stir last year with his ultra-dark LP Excavation. He's lined up his first clutch of stateside gigs, making this one with RBMA his local debut.
