- Jon Hassell, Ariel Kalma and David Cunningham are featured on the 14-track set.
Optimo Music will release a compilation of ambient, experimental and new age music called Miracle Steps in May.
The label is run by Keith McIvor, one-half of the deep digging Glasgow DJ team. True to form, the upcoming collection, pulled together by McIvor and 12th Isle co-founder Fergus Clark, is all over the shop. It borrows its title from Jon Hassell's conceptual genre. Hassell is featured on Miracle Steps, as is cult Mexican synth figure Jorge Reyes, Not Not Fun affiliate X.Y.R., Flying Lizards member David Cunningham and experimental artists new (Iona Fortune) and old (O Yuki Conjugate). A track from Ariel Kalma and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe's 2015 collaboration for RVNG Intl.'s FRKWYS series also figures into the double-LP set.
Miracle Steps comes on the heels of an Optimo Music LP from The Golden Filter. In 2015, the label pulled together a collection of post-punk obscurities called [Cease & Desist] DIY! (Cult Classics From The Post-Punk Era 1978-82).
