- Clear Tamei and Steel Mogu, the follow-ups to his 2017 LP Neō Wax Bloom, are out in August.
Iglooghost has announced details for a pair of upcoming self-released EPs called Clear Tamei and Steel Mogu.
The two EPs are follow-ups to Seamus Malliagh's first proper Iglooghost full-length, Neo Wax Bloom, which came out on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label last year. We're told the UK producer expands on the world of cartoon-ish alien beings he developed with that album on the pair of forthcoming EPs, introducing a "young, see-through god-in-training named Tamei," whose story is set "3000 years prior to the events of Neo Wax Bloom."
While they share a narrative, Clear Tamei and Steel Mogu are said to diverge in style: the former "channels lavish string quartets and melancholic, fictional classical instruments," while the latter offers "a hyperspeed collage of synthetic, trance-influenced synths contorting around violent, mutating 808s." As usual, Malliagh made the artwork for both releases himself.
Listen to Steel Mogu track "Niteracer" before both EPs land on August 8th.
