  • Paranoid London are releasing a new EP paying tribute to Bubbles, the San Francisco DJ, artist and LGBTQ activist who was shot and killed in September of last year. The English duo met Bubbles, real name Anthony Torres, at Sunset Campout last year and decided to make a track together. Before the collaboration could take shape, Bubbles was killed in San Francisco's Tenderloin district in a late-night incident on Larkin St. in the Tenderloin, not far from the RS94109 record store. In a Facebook post, the group said that upon returning to the city and hearing of Bubbles excitement about the project, they decided to go ahead with the idea: "We took some audio from his Facebook account (a piece of film where he breaks in to a construction yard on his own, sets up his decks & holds a rave for himself), did our usual repetitive drums & acid and married the two together. " The resulting three-track EP, credited to Paranoid London with Bubbles Bubblesynski, is called The Boombox Affair and is due out August 17th on vinyl and digital formats. It's Paranoid London's first release since Give Me The / Our Man Though, which came out late in 2016. All proceeds will be donated to two charities, St. James Infirmary and Lyon Martin, and the original artwork piece is being auctioned off for the cause, too.
