The label will also issue Loscil's 2002 album, Submers, on vinyl for the first time ever.
Seminal ambient label Kranky will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a tour of the US starting next month.
They've partnered up with the audiovisual event series Ambient Church for five gigs: two in Portland followed by Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. Grouper, Forma, Windy & Carl, Loscil, Steve Hauschildt, Earthen Sea and Brian McBride (from Stars Of The Lid) are among the artists booked. (Grouper will perform at the second and third gigs of the tour, while the other acts are all booked for one show each—see individual lineups below.)
Ambient Church refers to itself as a "nomadic experiential event series dedicated to working with artists to bring new ecologies to architecturally unique spaces through transcendent audio and visual performance."
As part of the 25th anniversary, Kranky will also issue Loscil's 2002 album, Submers, on vinyl for the first time. It's part of an ongoing campaign of issuing or reissuing out-of-print or non-label titles on "expanded formats," the label says. They describe Submers as a "long-heralded classic of miasma, mystery and undertow." That's out on November 23rd.
