- The UK producer sought to answer the question, "What if Jam & Lewis signed to Metroplex?"
Special Request will release his third album of the year, Offworld, via Houndstooth in October.
Paul Woolford doesn't offer much in terms of a description of the new album, simply saying Offworld started off with a question: "What if [the legendary American R&B songwriting and production team] Jam & Lewis signed to Metroplex?" The first single from the album, "Shepperton Moon Landing," manages to combine R&B vocals and a Jam & Lewis-style bassline with Juan Atkins' signature sci-fi pads.
Offworld follows Special Request's VORTEX album, released in May, and the archival Bedroom Tapes LP, released in in June.
