Orphans, which also features a remix by Planningtorock, is "in part a prequel" to 2018's Siblings LP.
Colin Self has released three new tracks via RVNG Intl.Orphans is "in part a prequel" to Siblings, Self's 2018 album that acted as the conclusion to Elation, his multi-act, multidisciplinary operetta.
The three new tracks—"Dispossessed" (which features Eve Essex on flute), "Once More" (previously available as a digital-only bonus track on Siblings) and "Polyvagal"—center "non-biological family storytelling based on the forgotten, unnamed, and marginalized," according to the press release. Orphans also includes a Planningtorock remix of "Survival."
All three songs were composed and recorded around the time of Siblings. Self will present Siblings (Elation VI) at Trauma Bar und Kino in Berlin this Friday and Saturday.
