- The 41-minute LP was mostly recorded during lockdown.
John Tejada is releasing his next album on February 26th via Kompakt.
Year Of The Living Dead, though started shortly before the pandemic, was written largely in lockdown.
"The production process began right before lockdown and continued through what felt like a very serious time for all of us," Tejada says. "Not being able to see or touch our loved ones made me feel we are all like ghosts. We can observe from a distance but cannot really be there. We are isolated and alone."
The LP comes in at a shorter-than-usual 41 minutes, and moves beyond techno and house, with experiments in dub and other broken beat genres.
Tejada recently released a collaborative EP with Natan H under the name Machine Lab. His last solo album was 2018's Live Rytm Trax, and last year he put out an LP with Reggie Watts as part of their Wajatta project.
