Palette Recordings celebrates fifty releases with a full-lengther Where from head honcho John Tejada.
Tejada's no slouch when it comes to albums with no fewer than eleven under his belt for labels such as Playhouse, Plug Research and Immigrant, including three with guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto as I'm Not a Gun.
PAL050 came together purely by accident and as a result steers well clear of trademarks heard on past classic 12"s such as 'Mono on Mono' and 'Sweat on the Walls'. "The album came out of experimentation and starting fresh without knowingly making a new album," says Tejada. "The place these tracks came from within me is hard to put into words. But as the collection of songs started to grow a bigger picture came into focus. Where is a moment in time, a place, a realisation." The ten brand new cuts include a collaboration with vocalist Nicolette, who has previously worked with Plaid and Massive Attack.
