- The new Warp act will release their second full-length in August.
Warp's newest act, Pivot, will release their second album in August.
The Australian trio may not explicitly sound like an electronically-inclined group, but it's hard not to hear the influence of ambient pioneers like Kitaro and Vangelis in and around their nerdy grooves. Well, that and the fact that group member Dave Miller has recorded for Andy Vaz's Background, with other members playing alongside Prefuse73, Flanger, Savath & Savalas, Jan Jelinek, Burnt Friedman and Damo Suzuki over the years. Name-checking aside, though, Warp is calling the band "part prog-warrior, part slacker-geek," which, honestly, is enough for us to want to check this thing out.
