- House music that should put a smile on your face.
- Demuir has become a favourite of labels like Desolat and Hot Creations thanks to a functional style house of music that's hard not to smile at. "Werq. Feel. Gruv. Vogue," the lead track off his new EP for Heist Recordings, is a perfect example. It's straightforward house, but it oozes personality, especially the way the loops—a Rhodes keyboard, a sample from a disco track—move, creating the occasional flamboyant stutter in the lumbering rhythm. Loaded with organs, silly vocals and sweeping strings, "Werq. Feel. Gruv. Vogue." is more than the sum of its timeworn parts. It's functional, sure, but it has the goofy energy of an puppy trying to lick your face.
