- Disjointed glitch meets bass and experimental beats.
- Crammed with whirring, buzzing and crackling from samples of live radio, drum machines and field recordings, the Ramallah-based producer's latest record sounds like the interior of a mainframe computer. "Dirasat 'Ulya" is one of the album's shorter tracks, but that doesn't take away from its impact. Snippets of drum & bass are paired with spliced vocals, bleepy synths and unidentifiable noises in a whirlwind of static. It's the epitome of order in chaos. These densely layered arrangements might sound abstract in others' hands, but Muqata’a somehow makes it all work.
